City Format Assignment:
We will have a lesson on how to format the various parts of the assignment, however there are instructions of where to go and how to create the different parts of the assignments. When you are finished your copy should look exactly like mine. On edmodo the assignment is "City Format Assignment."
Read all instructions before you start.
1. Insert a Header with you first and last name, header and footer are found on the Insert tab.
2. Town Name, (Emmett Idaho) size 12 font, Times New Roman in column B and C row 1, must merge cells, so highlight those cells, right click, select format cells, then alignment and select merge. 4th Street, (merged in column B and C, row 3 ) and Main Street, (merged in column B and C, row 21 ) should be done just as you did Emmett.
3. Names of business/places need to be on the edge of the cell, as shown. Right Align names in Column A. Names in column D should be on the left as shown. Resize columns A and D to about 26MM or 1.5 inches. Click up in the column heading on the boarder of the two columns with the double lines and you can see the column width and change it. Business names go in row 2, 5-20 and 23 in columns A and D.
4. Format borders- street lines (curbs) heavy and center lines should be lighter or dotted. Highlight the area you want to place the boarder and right click, select format cells, and then boarders. You must be careful and think about where you are placing the boarder and what you need to highlight.
5. Next type Washington Ave in cell B5. Highlight column B from row 5 to row 20, right click, select format cells and select alignment. On horizontal select right and on vertical select center. Then select merge cells and change the orientation 90 degrees by dragging down on the arrow.
6. Finally include twelve clip art which is on the insert tab. Once you select a clip art you will need to resize them to fit in your document. Put them next to the the business that the clip art represents. See the example.
