Computer Works quiz on Edmodo. Be sure to select submit when you are finished.
When everyone is finished with the quiz we will begin a worksheet assignment on computer software/hardware. Part of this is converting base two numbers, (computers run on base two) to base ten. And converting base ten to base two. To convert base two to base ten you must add. Two convert base 10 to base two you must divide. The base two numbers are only 1 and 0. One has value and zero does not other than place value. This is all based on base two place value. Add using place value and divide using place value. Base two place value doubles for each place. Starts with one then 2 then 4 then 8 then 16 then 32 then 64 then 128 and so on. So the base two number 111 would be 1+2+4 which would be 7 in base ten. 7 can be divided by 4 and then 2 and then 1 which is 111 in base two. Clear as mud I am sure.
