Why are we doing this? I would like for students to understand the cost of eating out every day for a week might cost. You are to pretend that you are attending a five day, Monday through Friday, business conference in Boise. Each day you will go out to lunch at a different restaurant. You will find the exact price of each lunch and the total price for the week from each restaurant listed below. You do not need to figure/include tax.
You must search the internet and find the menu prices of each meal listed below, Your Google search is underlined. When you do these searches remember you are looking for the actual business. Know that the web site you are looking for will most likely have the business name in the web address. When you get to the correct web site find the area you are looking for, don’t be afraid to click things that is how you increase your ability in web site navigation. If you feel like you have gone in the wrong direction click the back arrow, or reenter your search.
1. Olive Garden, Boise Town Square- lunch-from the appetizer menu, Grilled Chicken Flatbread
2. Café Ole- Boise- Taco Salad.
3. Mongolian BBQ Boise - Barbarian Khan, all you can eat, lunch price.
4. Old Chicago down town Boise- must select location- Sandwich, Chicken Pesto Panini.
5. RAM Boise- Fire Grilled Burgers- The All American
Once you have completed your research create a spreadsheet that details the price of your lunches:
1. A header with your first and last name.
2. A Title (Lunch Budget) using word art. Title should not go below row 4 or past column G.
3. Put the names of the restaurants in cells A5-A9 starting with Olive Garden, use Times New Roman size 12 font. You must widen column A so the names of the restaurants will fit. In Cells C5–C9 put the price of each lunch. In cell A10 put the title Total Cost, and in cell C10 create a formula that calculates the cost of your lunches for a week. Use cell addresses for your formula, and remember all formulas must begin with an equal (=) sign.
4. Add a clip art to go with your theme of lunch. (Clip art must be similar in size to your lunch spreadsheet, no more than 6/7 rows.)
5. Do a save as and name your file “Lunch Budget.” Finally you need to attach the document to the edmodo assignment and turn it in. I want to go paperless if we can.
If you finish early today I would like you to log in to Typing Pal and practice typing.
